Jillian Michaels is trying to kill me

January 4th I began the 30 Day Shred. Like most people, I have good INTENTIONS and lack a bit on the follow through. Since then, I have missed 5 days. Really not too shabby. I seem to do it for two days and take a day off or two. Anyway, I should be on day 15, but today was day 10. Last week, Tim did the shred with me once and this week, I've already talked him into 3 days! So, he's on day 4. Today we started level 2. HOLY WOWZA! I have ALWAYS lacked upper body strength. I've never been able to complete more than 5 "boy" push ups. Ever. So, just starting this 30 Day Shred was a challenge there because in level 1, she has you doing push ups for 30 seconds straight along with other upper body exercise and it's killer! My shoulders ache and burn after the first circuit, but I keep chugging along and finish....usually following a modified Anita. lol. So, on level 2 she takes it up a notch. The ab work is noticably harder...like I almost can't make it through it. And the strength training is HARD. We finished 45 minutes ago(ish) and my shoulders are still achey. I can tell I worked out this morning. Some of the cardio is too hard for me to do...as far as coordination goes. lol and well, I lack in the upper body so it's extra hard.

But, I keep going and I am HONESTLY enjoying doing it....even if I'm so sore it feels like she's trying to kill me. And she isn't as annoying in her comments on the 2nd level which is a nice bonus, too. :)


  1. We did it for a week or so before we started the EA Sports Active and we only did level 1 and we thought that was hard. I am glad her comments aren't as annoying. I have a friend who has been doing it for awhile and she said she doesn't know if she'll ever make it to level 3. Keep up the great work.

  2. Jillian is intense! I slowly made my way thru the Shred a few months ago and it killed me. I plan to start it back after I have the baby and have fully recuperated!!
