Oh Happy Day!

I'm back from the doctor with great news!

All the walking and biking that I've been doing apparently hasn't adequately prepared my aging body for running. I started too fast and need to back up and start again...this time using my watch to time only running 20 seconds at a time and walking 90 seconds and working up from there. She gave me some stretches to do and recommended that I start doing Yoga at least once a week. Add that to icing and ibuprofen twice a day to get the swelling down and I'm good to go! I'm so thankful this is all it is! While I'm disappointed that I can't keep up the pace I was comfortable for me...I'm just glad that it's nothing major. She did say that if it's not better in two weeks to call and she'd set me up with a physical therapist so that I am READY TO RUN for Pickle Fest. WOOHOO!

  1. It's terrible to have to admit it Jess, but you're not a kid anymore. Take it from one who knows. Glad it wasn't anything more serious, I didn't know how'd you handle recuperating if you can't be going like it sounds you do.
