I'm not dead...REALLY!

I'm here.....being a Very Superior 1930's housewife......or something. Actually, with Timmy home for a while, I'm actually busy with extra projects and blogging slides to the bottom of my list of things to do. You know, where I never actually get to. Something about 4 kids and a hubby. hmmm. Anyway, in my very limited time before bed, I'm reading Lipstick Jihad. It's a pretty interesting book. Check it out while you wait for me. I'll be back with pictures soon!

Apple Picking

We went apple picking today. We had so much fun that the camera batteries died. I'll post pictures tomorrow. We picked 40# of apples and roughly 5 POUNDS of red raspberries, yellow raspberries and blackberries. My kids LOVE to berry pick! (Grandpa in the woods would LOVE THEM!) I think TJ ate his weight in berries and it's already beginning to show....you know what I mean. icky! Tuck had a crab apple and a beacon apple and a few berries, so he shouldn't be too bad. I just finished canning raspberry jam, I pulled out the blackberries to make apple/blackberry pie and have a few red and yellows left for cereal and/or smoothies. The apples I'll wait for tomorrow or Monday to work on, but I see pie and sauce in my future!

We took Rugby's friend Brandon and his dad with us and I'm so glad that they could come along! It was nice to have the extra adult eyes with all the kids! TJ stuck to Jaimie like glue and I think he liked that, too.

Pictures to come!!

The Time of Your Life

Remember that old Green Day song, The Time of Your Life? (I'll put it in my playlist over there on the right, all the way at the bottom of the sidebar) Here's a comedian that re-did it. It was laugh out loud funny to me this morning. Enjoy! (And comment!!)

School started today.

I want to cry.

I thought I was ready to send them back, but turns out I want more time. I don't want them to be in Kindergarten and 2nd grade. I don't want to get up at 6am everyday for the next 9 months. I don't want to pack lunches every. single. day. I don't want to help them with homework. I don't want to rush through dinner. Ugh.

I DO want to keep my babies as babies. I want to keep them close to me. I want to snuggle in bed til 9am. I want to play games do whatever we want to, whenever we want to do it. I want to be with my boys.

Today and yesterday, Rugby and Riley have been playing SO AWESOME together and playing nice with TJ, too. It's been great. I'm not too thrilled about school starting, I kinda like having them around. Too bad I don't have the patience or drive to do homeschooling. Maybe in my next life....
