School Screening

We had the pre-k screening today and it went well. Riley was above average for almost everything and average for a couple things with nothing below average. He needs to have his hearing screened again in a week or two, but that's no big deal. She thought it could have been nerves that he didn't do it well.

Then, I talked to them about screening for Kindergarten and they did it IMMEDIATELY! I was shocked and thrilled. Since Rugby's teacher knew that I was going to talk to them about it, she talked to the principal and got all the steps in place for me. Riley passed the screening as Ready, so now we meet with the principal and school psychologist for testing, back with the principal to review the testing and then take it to the school board if the testing goes well. They are being completely supportive of my decision to have him tested and I couldn't be happier. I wasn't expecting a fight, but I was expecting them to try to talk me out of it and there wasn't any of that. I am really impressed with the school staff....ALL of them that we've dealt with so far have been wonderful. We are lucky to be in such a great district. (even if they are broke )
